Healing
My experience of using Healing
I started using healing by belonging to a healer support and development group based in Norwich. I found it easier to work with other people who were interested in healing and who had some knowledge of it. There is nothing like good feedback from someone more experienced than yourself to give you the confidence to persevere. I subsequently trained with the National Federation of Spiritual Healers, now known as The Healing Trust, and I continue to be a registered healer.
I gained the confidence to begin working on the general public by volunteering on the healing stands at the local Mind, Body and Spirit fairs. This was a great opportunity to find out more about healing and how it worked, as I only had 15 minutes to work with each person. On one occasion I gave healing to a young girl. With permission from her Mother, she was very keen to try healing. The healing went well, and afterwards I asked her what she thought about it. She replied that it was really good and she had especially enjoyed all the colours she saw. Not everyone sees colours when receiving healing, but it is not unusual to experience this.
I love working with healing as I find it a really powerful therapy to help with health and well being. Mostly I tend to work with my hands off your body, as I prefer to sense the patterns that are held in your aura. This gives me more feedback of where your body would like the energy to be sent. There are those clients that like to be touched and have hands on healing. I am also happy to work in this way. Sometimes it involves a mixture of hands on and hands off healing. When I give healing I always ask for your personal preference, as it’s important for you to get what is best for you.
Clients often ask whether giving healing is draining for me. That is never the case as it is not my energy that you are receiving. I am merely the channel through which the healing energy comes. Another common question is ‘what did you feel?’ I can feel the healing energy coming through me and into your aura. Once this has happened, the healing energy is yours. I don’t ask how it will benefit you or in what way, as that is down to you and your body to decide how best to use this energy. One more common question is ‘did you see anything?’ I work with my hands to sense and feel the energy imbalances within your aura, and hence don’t actually ‘see’ anything.
Healing for me is an essential part of my day. Clients ask whether you can heal yourself, and the answer is an unequivocal yes. I can’t imagine not wanting healing in my life.
