![]() KinesiologyWhat may I expect during a Kinesiology balance? The first kinesiology consultation is longer than subsequent appointments as I take a full case history from you. This gives an indication of what your body may wish to look at during the balance. All information given is confidential. A full balance follows this, so you get the full benefits from your first session. This appointment generally lasts about an hour and a half. The actual balance is conducted fully clothed and lying down on a couch. For those people who find it difficult to lie down on a couch, the balance can be conducted sat in a comfortable armchair. I inform you throughout the balance of what your body is bringing up to be balanced. You don’t have to remember this; it is just for your information. Much of the balance is dedicated to finding the health issues that are ready to be addressed. The actual healing time is very short, as the body chooses a technique that is specific to your needs. As such, it doesn’t take long to give, as your body knows exactly what it wants and how it wants it. You are very much involved in the balance, as you are central to the balance. Kinesiology is not a therapy where you close your eyes and let the therapist do the work. That said most people find kinesiology to be very relaxing, as the muscle testing is very light and gentle. I always advise plenty of water after a balance, as this helps your body process and let go of anything it no longer wants. Subsequent appointments generally last about an hour, as we spend a short time reviewing the previous session before moving onto current issues to be balanced. People often ask how often they should come for a balance. Again that depends upon your own personal circumstances and what you want to work on. Typically people start off by coming once a month to start the process. I usually say try it once to see how you get on, and then have a session once a month for three months to see whether it is for you. You can then review the progress you have made, and decide what to do next. Some people come once every few months for a balance to maintain the progress they have made, others come once a week, and others twice a year. Indeed, some people only come once, as it sorts the health issue they came with. It is entirely up to you.
